On March 14th I had the chance to photograph my good friend Andrea Kucherawy’s first football game of the year with her team the Swarm. It ended up pouring rain the whole time which only added to my admiration of these weekend warriors who play for the pure love of the game. I can’t quite remember the final score but it was a win for the Swarm who averaged close to 10 years of age over the opposing Barracudas; or at least that point was regularly shouted as encouragement from the sidelines! I’m looking forward to photographing this dedicated group again in the future.
Finally the leading image from this post was used as my Photo of the Week on Photographer Network. Go check out the network to see weekly photos from myself and the four other talented photographers who are part of the web site.

Brutal playing conditions + tough and inspirational women.
I love the grit of the black+white. These images are absolutely timeless.
And the cheerleader kids. So sweet.
Go Andrea Go!!!
Shouldice photographers are big fans of the grit!
These are fab Tristan! I LOVE the light, and the rain (although not so much when I’m playing in it). Damn we look hot!
Way to go Tristan!!! These are awesome and the girls are going to love ‘em.
I love them. I love the feel of them. Can you let me know how much for our team’s photos? We play this Friday at 8pm.
Wow Tristan I can’t thank you enough for these photo’s of our team.
They are fantastic & for effect I wouldn’t have wanted the weather any other way!
My favorite is our QB peering over the huddle towards you. I know that stare so very well being Mona’s teammate for over 20 years. Thanks for the memories, your photo’s brought tears to my eyes.
